David Alex has received three grants from the Illinois Arts Council in Recognition of Playwriting and one from the Pilgrim Foundation, an award for plays that deal with issues of moral significance. Several his plays have placed in writing competitions, including Onto Infiinity, winner of the Das Goldkiel First Place Award.
His play, N, will receive its 7th production in 2026 in Chicago. Mendacity will receive its World Premiere production in Pennsylvania in 2026.
