PlayMakers Lab
Meeting Monthly on Zoom, August-November
The first-ever AJT PlayMaker Lab is made up of Machers and Members. Each 2 hour lab meets once a month from August through November. The AJT PlayMaker Lab is led by Macher Lab Director Illana Stein.

Synopsis: When childless couple Sally & Sam Ross go for an interview on Easter at The Castle Hill Club, they find themselves tested and rejuvenated in a way they didn't expect. A one-act play about faith, fidelity, and fertility.

Synopsis: Part kitchen sink drama, part folk tale, Women of Valor takes you into the home of the three Pailett sisters as they explore their relationship to faith, sisterhood, and the practice of dismantling misogynistic systems through any means necessary- even, say, kidnapping your sister's estranged husband and stashing him in the basement

Synopsis: Amidst the siege of Bethulia by the Assyrian army led by General Holofernes, Judith emerges as an unexpected heroine. She and her maid concoct a bold plan to confront Holofernes-- one that will make heads roll.

Synopsis: It's impossible to describe October 7 concisely, and so, too, it would be impossible to describe this play. So, this is a play about October 7, and it is as chaotic as you would expect.

Synopsis: Max, embarrassed by his overbearing Jewish mother Helen, hides her from his on-off non-Jewish girlfriend, Rachel. When Rachel chances upon seeing Helen and Max together, however, she starts to suspect he’s having an affair with an older woman.

Title of Project - GET THE GETT - Down Under
Synopsis: A Kiwi, Jewish young mother, accompanied by her mother, must face the long-awaited moment in which she is to be granted a Jewish divorce in the presence of two Orthodox Rabbis and two Chabad witnesses.

Theatremachers Program
A Fellowship for Young Theatremakers ages 18-36 involving skill-building workshops with industry professionals, hands-on development labs where artists workshop their work, and a showcase to premier and celebrate their work.
AJT Regranting Program
AJT will provide support for new and innovative Jewish theatre by offering grants to theatre-makers/theatres to support new work in the field that has potential to reach audiences at either established Jewish theatres or theatres committed to shepherding their work.
AJT Member Theatre Apprentice Program
Through a generous grant from Canvas, AJT is able to offset the honorarium fee for apprentices to work at Member Theatres. We have a pool of qualified applicants waiting and ready - our AJT Theatremachers!
Ambassadors

On The Bimah (formerly known as Theatre Schmooze) is a monthly podcast where we chat with Jewish theatre makers from around the world about their art, Judaism, and vision for theater’s future.
