Ralph Meranto

Ralph Meranto is the Artistic Director and Producer of CenterStage in Rochester, NY, which developed and produced the NNPN RWP of Church & State by Jason Odell Williams in October of 2016. The play enjoyed a three month run Off Broadway at New World Stages and earned a OBA Nomination for Best New Play. It was been published by Dramatists and been produced in dozens of theatres from Florida to Alaska. Ralph and CenterStage also developed and produced Ru Paul Drag Race star Kasha Davis’ autobiographical play There’s Always Time for a Cocktail, which debuted at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in NYC and has since toured the US and Great Britain and produced several other new and emerging works at his theatre. Favorite directing credits include Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Bad Jews, The Last Five Years, Parade, My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding, Kindertransport, Six Degrees of Separation, and the American Songbook series which he co-creates. Ralph recently directed a reading of Carter W. Lewis’s play Hit-Story at Geva Theatre Center. Ralph is also a choreographer, scenic designer, private acting coach and TV/event host. As an actor he has performed around Western NY including readings at Geva Theatre Center. Prior to talking the helm of CenterStage he was in the corporate world which he tries to not talk about. He lives in Rochester with his graphic designer wife in a cool mid century home which they enjoy restoring and decorating.
