SARA NESSON
Sara Nesson is a visual artist, writer, and performer who got her theatrical start acting out Godspell and Jesus Christ Superstar in the living room.
As a Bay Area playwright and actress, Sara has toured in productions such as On the Seventh Day with A Traveling Jewish Theatre and Sides of a Wall: A German-Jewish Story, an Interfaith America/Haas Fund grant recipient. Her most recent work, The Broken Mishkan, is a solo piece that follows her journey toward wholeness after being diagnosed with a chronic illness. She tours it virtually to communities around the country.
Sara has also led Jewish and interfaith worship, taught storytelling workshops at seminaries and hospitals, mentored Jewish teenagers, and traversed the United States as a travel writer. With support from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, she is currently leading an initiative to create greater visibility and equity for disabled artists in her local community.
