Gayle Ann Weinstein

My first full-length play, Raizel’s Return, a fantasy drama about a young rabbi and his wife, which incorporates Jewish folklore, won honorable mention out of 225 plays submitted to the Jewish Play Project contest, 2020. I am currently writing the book and lyrics for Meet Me on the Corner, A Musical Comedy, to be included in the Chicago Writers’ Bloc play festival in October (barring changes due to covid). The musical is comprised of a collection of first-hand stories told to the author about her paternal grandparents’ journeys from Russia and Poland, their struggles in early 1900s Chicago, and their unlikely meeting. (Gayle Ann Weinstein, author name).
