Gayle Ann Weinstein

My first full-length play, Raizel’s Return, a fantasy drama about a young rabbi and his wife, which incorporates Jewish folklore, won honorable mention out of 225 plays submitted to the Jewish Play Projects contest, 2020. My second play and first musical, Meet Me on the Corner, A Musical Comedy, had its first reading at The Raven Theater (Chicago) on June 14, 2022. The musical is comprised of a collection of first-hand stories that were told to the author and recorded in about 1980. Meet Me on the Corner, A Musical Comedy chronicles the journey of the author’s paternal grandparents’ journeys from Russia and Poland, their struggles in early 1900s Chicago, and their unlikely meeting and subsequent marriage. (Gayle Ann Weinstein, author name).
