Dylan Seders Hoffman is an actor, producer, and director based in New York City. Her debut short film, Yiddish Mean Girls, which she produced, directed, and starred in, was lauded as one of the twelve “Best Jewish Pop Culture Moments” of 2022 by Hey Alma Magazine and has been an official selection at film festivals internationally.
She is the founder and artistic director of Chava Productions, a film production company which presents original works located at the intersection of pop culture and 21st century Jewishness with a generous dose of Yiddish. Chava Productions’ first short film Yiddish Mean Girls premiered in the fall of 2022. The company’s work has been featured in Hey Alma Magazine and The Forward.
As an actor, she is a regular on the Yiddish stage in NYC and has performed Off-Broadway with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene including in their New York Times Critic’s Pick production of The Sorceress and with the New Yiddish Rep (The Women).
Dylan is a founding producing member of the GLYK Collective which produces both classic work from the Yiddish stage and new work from young, Yiddish speaking writers. Additionally, she has worked as a Yiddish coach for both award-winning Yiddish theatre companies in New York City: the New Yiddish Rep and the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene for their recent production of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish directed by Joel Grey.
